About Us

Hey, I’m John — the guy behind Lost Line.

I started Lost Line because I love fishing, wanted to build something of my own, and figured I already spend enough time thinking about fish that I might as well do something productive with it.

Lost Line is a fishing brand for people who genuinely enjoy being on the water. You don’t need the fanciest boat, the newest electronics, or enough tackle to open your own Bass Pro aisle. You just need somewhere to fish and a reason to go.

Sometimes you catch them. Sometimes you don’t. Sometimes you spend twenty minutes getting a lure out of a tree just to immediately put it into a different tree.

That’s fishing.

For me, some of the best parts have nothing to do with what ends up on the end of the line. It’s getting up way too early for something that’s supposed to be relaxing. Buying tackle you absolutely did not need. Finding a stretch of water you’ve never fished and wondering what’s in there. Saying “one more cast” enough times that you’re now an hour late getting home.

And every once in a while, apparently, it’s kissing a pufferfish.

In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

That’s the side of fishing I want Lost Line to represent. Not the perfectly staged version where every fish is huge, nobody ever gets skunked, and every day on the water looks like a commercial.

The real version.

The good days. The bad days. The questionable decisions. The fish stories that get a little bigger every time they’re told. And those trips where you barely caught anything but somehow still had a hell of a time.

That’s what I want to build Lost Line around.

Right now, Lost Line is still a small operation. I’m working on the designs, products, content, and whatever other idea manages to find its way into my head. Some ideas work. Some don’t. Some probably should’ve been talked over with a responsible adult first.

But I’m building it.

And as Lost Line grows, I want it to stay a brand made for regular people who love to fish—whether you’re on the water every weekend or you’re just waiting for life to give you a free afternoon.

If you’ve found Lost Line this early, thanks for being here. There’s a lot more I want to do with this thing, and we’re just getting started.

Now quit reading the About Us page and go fishing.

Fish More. Worry Less.
