So what happened was... Me and my buddy were headed out to a lake in central Washington to do some fishing. At the time, I had this little 8-foot boat that fit perfectly in the bed of my truck. That should've been the first warning sign. We get to the boat ramp, and instead of just carrying the thing down like two normal people, I have a better idea. I'll just back the truck down the ramp until the tailgate is basically touching the water. Then we can slide the boat right out of the bed and straight into the lake. Smooth. Efficient. Genius. So I start backing down. And I keep backing down. Eventually I've got the tailgate at the water, the boat's ready to go, and everything is working exactly according to plan. Until it was time to drive back up the ramp. That's when I learned something pretty important about my truck: The four-wheel drive didn't work. So now I'm sitting there with half my Chevy in the lake, tires aren't getting me anywhere, and my buddy and I are just kind of looking at each other like, "Well... shit." We sat there for probably ten minutes before another guy finally came down the ramp. In a Ford Ranger. Thankfully, he had tow straps. So this little Ford Ranger hooks up to my Chevy, pulls my dumb ass back up the boat ramp, and saves our fishing trip before I accidentally turn my truck into an artificial fish habitat. I've talked plenty of shit about Ford over the years. But when your Chevy is halfway underwater and the guy coming to rescue you is driving a Ranger... You shut the hell up and let him hook up the tow strap. So much for Chevy being better than Ford.
